Behind My Attic Door

Fishiní Worms [Erick Traplin]
Fishin' worms, fishin' worms, fishin' worms make my stomach turn.
Long skinny fishin' worms, short fat fishin' worms,
Slimy gooey fishin' worms, creepy crawly fishin' worms
Fishin' worms, fishin' worms, fishin' worms make my stomach turn.

Those fishin' worms don't know a thing.
I don't think they even have a brain.
Crawlin' on the roads and sidewalks after a rain
Gettin' squished by cars and trucks and passin' vans.
I don't like 'em, you can have 'em,
Fishin' worms do strange things to me man.

My brother keeps stickin' them in my face.
I don't know what to do or to say.
Run away, hide away, what am I to do today
Keep those creepy crawly things away from me. I don't want to play your game,
Those fishin' worms drive me insane.

(chorus)

They don't seem to care where they go,
As long as it's across the sidewalk or road.
Half squished, half dead, they keep going straight ahead.
Where they're going they don't know, neither do i.
I just wish my brother would stop shaking them in front of my eyes.

(chorus)

Dirty Socks [Erick Traplin]
Now my big brother works on the farm bailin' straw and hay,
Wearin' rubber boots he works in them all day.
Then at night when he comes home, he puts his socks away,
Stores them in a plastic bag it's enough to make you gag.

Now early next morning he takes those socks and puts them on again.
I don't know how he stands the smell, his nose must be made of tin.
Then he shoves them in his rubber boots with a great big grin,
'Cause by weeks end they're dirty and stiff and he'll make me take a whiff.

Don't make me smell your dirty socks you've been wearin' them all week.
The only thing that could smell worse is your dirty feet!
You said you'd take me to a show if Iíd just smell your socks,
But I know if I did that Iíd be in a state of shock!
He wears them out all week long and the smell keeps getting stronger.
I think they'd get up and walk away, if he wore them any longer.
At the end of the week when he comes home I can hear him holler,
Before I take you to a show you'll smell my socks you know.

(chorus) 2x

(spoken) Aw, get 'em out of my face man, they stink! It better be a good show.

Daddy's Doodlebug [Erick Traplin]
There's a little girl with curlers in her hair, sittin' on her daddy's knee.
A smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, she's happy as can be.
She's daddy's little girl and she's all in a whirl,
'Cause she's goin' to a weddin'
To wear a pretty dress a halo on her head and be a flower girl.

She's daddy's doodlebug, doodle, doodle, doodle, doodlebug.
Daddy's doodlebug and she just wants a hug.
She's daddy's doodle, doodle, doodlebug.
Daddy's doodle, doodle, doodlebug.
And daddy's doodlebug wants a hug.

Her mama's going to take the curlers from her hair
And get her all dressed up.
She'll look as pretty as a picture, pretty as a buttercup.
And when she's walking down the aisle, she'll recall dad's hug,
And on her face she'll wear a smile, 'cause she's daddy's doodlebug.

(chorus) 2x

Behind My Attic Door [Erick Traplin]
When I am upset or maybe feelin' blue.
I go up to my attic and there I think things through.
I have a talk with myself, let my imagination soar
I work my troubles out, there behind my attic door.

When my skies are gray, and I don't know what to do.
I go up to my attic I have friends I can talk to.
I just close my eyes, let my imagination soar

And I find my answers there behind my attic door.

(chorus)

'Cause in my attic there's Berkley, Molly the ghost and old Op.
There's the jug bug band captain Shipey and his parrot Bassanio.
I can talk to a picture and it'll talk back,
Dance around with an old coat rack.
Do anything, be anyone,
Play my guitar, have some fun,
Behind, behind, behind my attic door
Behind, behind my attic door.

(instrumental verse)

The Jug Bug Band [Erick Traplin]
Even though we're different we always get along
Although we don't always agree.
we listen to each other we communicate our feelings
And stay a happy family.

(chorus)

We're the jug bug band (jug bug band)
We travel ' round the land (travel ' round the land)
And our music is simply grand.
There's Garth on the tub, Fitch on the jug,
Rias on the drums and she keeps those skins a ringin'
There's Frieda on guitar, oh she's a star,
They call me Ting and I do the singin'
With some help from my friends (with some help from his friends)
We're the jug bug band (the jug bug band)
The jug bug band (the jug bug band)
And we play our music all across this land.

We never walk away angry, we talk until we're happy
And often times we compromise.
We each give a little, it's better in the middle
Than alone with angry eyes.
(chorus)

Walk Proud [Erick Traplin]
It don't matter much at all,
If youíre big or small,
Rich or poor, young or old.
You got yourself, you got gold
You got yourself, you got gold.

Can't be lookin' over the fence,
Got to use some common sense.
Got to make your mind up now,
And like who you are right now.

Walk proud (2x)

Keep your head up don't look down,
Let 'em know youíre around.
Life's biggest gift is yourself,
Make the best of your wealth
Make the best of your wealth.

Don't be livin' just wishin',
Got to get some ambition.
Got to learn to like today,
It makes tomorrow pay.

Walk proud (2x)

Chicken Song [Erick Traplin]
Well I once met a chicken who didn't know how to lay an egg,
She tried everything she knew even stood on one leg.
(chorus)

She was a game little hen a plucky little bird,
She never did give up.
From mornin' to night throughout the barnyard
You could hear her cluck.
Cluck.... I'm gonna lay an egg
Cluck.... I'm gonna lay an egg
Cluck... I don't care what it takes
Cluck... I'm gonna lay an egg.

Well she tried it in the nest, she tried her best Even wore her downy vest.
She faced the east she faced the west She never took a rest.
She asked a duck, she asked a goose,
She asked her sister hens,
She trusted her luck, she asked a moose,
But he seemed rather dense.

(chorus)

Well she clucked at the moon in the middle of June,
Even ate with a spoon.
She'd suck on a prune just around noon,
Humming a tuneless tune.
She barked like a dog called her left her right,
Even took to wearin' slippers
She jumped off a log at the stroke of midnight
Counting stars in the Big Dipper.

(chorus)

And then one morning in the middle of the middle of the night
She awoke with a fright,
And gave one big cluck and something came unstuck.
When she opened her eyes to her surprise
And Iím tellin' you no lies.
There in the nest without a jest,
Was an egg in a yellow vest.

(chorus)

Cluck... I did it, I laid an egg.
Cluck... Oh boy, I laid an egg.
Cluck.... Now listen everybody.
Cluck... Hey! I'm a mommy.

Christmas Time Is Here [Erick Traplin]
Snowflakes falling on the ground, little children playing all around.
Everyoneís happy in this town, Christmas time is here.

Everyoneís face is all-aglow, thereís no frown and no sorrow.
Let it snow and let it blow, Christmas time is here.
They're all running for their presents, hidden Ďneath the Christmas tree,
Theyíre all happy as can be, Christmas time is here.

(chorus)

Santaís come with all his toys, bringing joy to girls and boys.
A time of laughter and of joy, Christmas time is here.
The trees are full of candy canes, the childrenís bellies are the same.
We're all happy Santa came, Christmas time is here.

The One That I Love Best [Erick Traplin]
You take your tiny little fingers, your tiny little toes,
Your tiny little ears and your tiny little nose.
Put them all together with the rest,
And you have the one that I love best.

You take your tiny little knees, your tiny little thighs,
Your tiny little chin and your tiny little eyes.
Put them all together with the rest,
And you have the one that I love best.

'Cause I love you as much as can be,
Youíre the bestest little baby I ever did see.
Youíre my sunshine my delight,
Youíre all warm and cuddly,
Youíre just right.

You take your tiny little arm, your tiny little bum,
Your tiny little tummy and your tiny little thumb.
Put them all together with the rest,
And you have the one that I love best.

'Cause I love you as much as can be,
You're the bestest little baby I ever did see.
Youíre my sunshine my delight,
Now it's time to go to bed, nighty night.

We Had A Fight [Erick Traplin]
I donít like to feel this way, I donít like to be in a sad state.
I donít like when my friend and I, donít quite see eye to eye.
We had a fight, fight, fight, fight, fight.
We had a fight, fight, fight, fight, fight.

You know heís my best friend and I never want it to end.
But we had an argument today, I donít know why he acts that way.

(chorus)

Sometimes I feel so doggone mad, I want to jump like a fool on my bed.
All I know is I wish it would end, so we could be friends again.
We had a fight, fight, fight, fight, fight.
We had a fight, fight, fight, fight, fight.
Well I think he took advantage of me,
But thatís just my opinion you see.
Well Iím hopiní after a little time,
Weíll both cool down and thingsíll be fine.

(chorus)

Be Yourself [Erick Traplin]
Be yourself and no one else, don't let anyone lead you astray
Be true to yourself and you feel good in every way.

Don't let your heart be torn apart By someoneís laughter or ridicule.
Don't let your mind all unwind,
Just be cool.
If someoneís mouth should lead you south
Oh, of your boarder line.
Remember it's you who'll have to do the time.

(chorus)

If you find you've been unkind
To someone else. Just to fit in.
You know it's time to change your mind Begin again.
For you know the winds gonna blow
Oh, back your way some day,
So be smart, be yourself,
Walk your own highway.

(chorus) 2x
